I think 49,62 and 75 because there all even and odd numbers so if there all even and odd numbers the next 3 should be even and odd numbers
cole-i think that they are 49,62,75. because they are following odd and even numbers Mr. G - Cole, this is true, but there is more to the pattern. What happens from 2 to 5? How about 5 to 10 or 10 to 17. See if you can identify that pattern.
Austin i think i cant do it Mr. G - Austin, take a look at what happens from the number 2 to 5. Then from 5 to 10 and so on. A pattern will start to form.
isabella-i think the numbers are 50, 65, and 82 because there following odd numbers starting with 3 and counting by 2's.
ali-I think the numbers are 48-61-76 because 2+3=5 and then it is counting by 2's
jazi: I think in g it is 50, in h it would be 65 and in i it would be 82. (all are odd numbers) i agree with ashley and isabella
ashley:50,65,82 because the pattern is to add 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,(odd numbers) Mr. G - Great thinking class! I like the way you are reading what your classmates have written and responding to what they have said. Your proof is thorough. I'm impressed.
Gregory - I agree with Isabella and Ashley. The numbers will be 50, 65 and 82. If you subtract 2 from 5 you get 3. then subtract 5 from 10 you get 5 then subtract 10 from 17 you get 7.
maya;i agree with isabella and ashley because you add odd numbers starting at 3.
julia.i agree with ashley
Mansi- The difference between the numbers Is a odd number series.
So 2-5 = 3
5-10= 5
10-17 = 7
3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17 Mr. G - Impressive, Mansi. You did a fine job finding the pattern.
So to get the last 3 We have to add odd numbers to the 37 + 13 = 50 g
50 + 15 = 65 h
65 + 17 = 82 I
Brianna- the number that goes in g is 50 then in h its 65 in i its 82 because if you add 2+3=5 and 5+5=10 and 10+7=17 and 17+9=26 and 26+11=37and 37+13=50 then 50+15=65 then 65+17=82 (all odd numbers)
Keira- g is 50, h is 65, i is 82. my brother helped me and I don't understand it all the way. Mr. G - Keira, that's good that you are getting help from your family. Everyone has their own particular way of problem solving and listening to others will help you. It's O.K. if you don't understand it completely. I'm happy that you gave it a try.
Yuval - g is 50, h is 65, and i is 82. I noticed a pattern starting at the difference between 2 to 5 which was 3, and then between 5 to 10 which was 5, and the difference between the next numbers was 7 - I saw that each time the difference jumped by 2 from 3 to 5 to 7 to 9 to 11 and then to 13 and 15 and lastly to 17. That is how I figured out the pattern and the numbers that go under g, h, and i.
Mr. G - Awesome solution, Yuval. That's it! You did a thorough job explaining your thinking.
